Calming Essential Oil Blend combines Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Lavender in a beautifully balanced formulation with a warm, rounded, spa-like aroma, created for those times when life feels busy, unsettled or simply a little too much.
It has that lovely, welcoming character I associate with walking into a spa. Geranium sits at the heart of the formulation, Ylang Ylang brings warmth and richness, while Lavender gently softens and brings everything together.
I use Calming throughout the day, not simply in the evening, whenever I want the atmosphere around me to feel more settled and balanced, without having to stop what I’m doing.

My Calming Essential Oil Blend brings together Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Lavender in a formulation created for the middle of real life, when things feel busy, emotions feel heightened or the atmosphere around you simply feels a little out of balance.
Calming is not about bringing your day to a stop.
I wanted a blend I could use while I was still working, managing the house, thinking, creating or simply getting on with whatever the day required. Its strength lies in the balance between the three oils.
Ylang Ylang brings richness and warmth. Its distinctive character needs careful balancing, but in the right proportion it gives Calming much of its depth.
Geranium forms the heart of the blend. It brings a fresh, rounded character that helps give Calming its balance and prevents the formulation from becoming too soft or sleepy.
Lavender softens the formulation and brings the three oils together with its familiar gentle, herbal character.
Together, they create a beautifully rounded, spa-like aroma. Warm, welcoming and comforting, with a freshness that makes it equally lovely to enjoy throughout the day.
I often reach for Calming when I feel pulled in several directions or when the atmosphere around me feels unsettled. Sometimes simply changing the aroma in the room is enough to make the space feel more comfortable and easier to be in.
As the blend diffuses, the three essential oils come together to create that lovely, balanced atmosphere I associate with a spa, where the aroma is welcoming without being overpowering.
Calming received the maximum three stars in the Nourish Beauty & Skincare Awards 2025, something I am particularly proud of because this is one of the blends that sits right at the heart of Mai Joie Botanicals.

Calming has a beautiful, rounded aroma that reminds me of the welcoming atmosphere of a spa. There's a lovely balance of warmth, freshness and softness, without anything feeling heavy or overpowering.
Geranium forms the heart of the blend, bringing freshness and a beautifully balanced character.
Ylang Ylang adds warmth, richness and depth.
Lavender gently softens the other oils, bringing everything together.
What I love about Calming is that it creates that lovely sense of comfort and balance without making the room feel sleepy.
It's an aroma I enjoy throughout the day, whether I'm working, creating or simply enjoying being at home.

Add a 3-5 drops of Calming Essential Oil Blend to your electric diffuser, following the instructions supplied with your particular model.
For an oil burner, fill the bowl with water first, then add a few drops of Calming. Check the water level regularly and never leave a lit burner unattended.
Calming can also be used with aroma jewellery and other products specifically designed for use with pure essential oils.
