Calming Aromatherapy Reed Diffuser

Calming Aromatherapy Reed Diffuser combines Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Lavender in a soft floral blend formulated to bring a more balanced, settled character to the room.

Calming is one of those blends I use throughout the day, not simply in the evening. It has a gentle floral aroma, but it is not sleepy or heavy, which makes it equally at home in a living room, hallway, workspace or bedroom.

The natural reeds gradually draw the diffuser liquid upwards and release the essential oils into the surrounding air, so the aroma becomes part of the room without needing heat, water or electricity.

Each essential oil brings something different to the blend.

Lavender gives Calming its familiar softness.
Geranium adds a fresh floral note.
Ylang Ylang brings warmth and rounds the blend beautifully.

Together they create a more layered aroma than using a single essential oil on its own.

Complete Calming Reed Diffuser 

Everything you need to begin using Calming at home.

The complete diffuser includes a 100ml glass reed diffuser bottle with wooden cap and 8 natural black reeds, filled with my professionally formulated Calming blend of Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Lavender in a natural reed diffuser base.

I recommend beginning with 3 or 4 reeds and allowing them time to absorb the liquid before deciding whether you would like to add another.

Using more reeds will increase the aroma throw, but it will also use the diffuser liquid more quickly.

Calming Reed Diffuser Refill

Keep your Calming aroma going with a 100ml refill and 8 fresh natural black reeds, made with the same professionally formulated blend of Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Lavender and natural reed diffuser base as the original.

Simply refill your clean, completely dry diffuser bottle and replace the reeds to continue enjoying the blend in your home.

How Many Reeds Should I Use?

Although I supply 8 reeds, you do not need to use them all at once.

I suggest starting with 3 or 4 reeds.

Give them time to absorb the diffuser liquid and allow the aroma to settle into the room. If you would like a little more strength, add another reed.

The more reeds you use, the greater the aroma throw, but the quicker the liquid will naturally be used.

This allows you to adjust the diffuser to suit both your room and your own preference.

Refreshing Your Reed Diffuser

The reeds can be turned occasionally when you would like to refresh the aroma, weekly is considered the average.

There is no need to flip them constantly, as doing so will increase evaporation and cause the diffuser liquid to run down more quickly.

When you move on to a fresh refill, I recommend using the new reeds supplied rather than continuing with old saturated reeds.

Where to Place Your Diffuser

A position with gentle natural air movement helps carry the aroma through the room.

Hallways, living spaces and areas you regularly walk through can work particularly well.

Avoid placing your diffuser:

• in direct sunlight
• immediately beside a radiator or other heat source
• in a strong draught or directly beside an open window
• somewhere it may easily be knocked over
• Bathrooms tend to drain the Reed Diffuser faster due to the heat.

Heat and strong airflow can make the diffuser evaporate much more quickly.

How Long Will My Reed Diffuser Last?

There is no single answer because every home is different.

The number of reeds used, room temperature, airflow and where the diffuser is positioned will all affect how quickly the liquid is used.

Using 3 or 4 reeds will generally give you a gentler aroma and help the diffuser last longer, while using more reeds increases the aroma throw and the rate of evaporation.

That is why I supply eight reeds but recommend starting with fewer and finding the level that works for your space.

The Natural Difference

I do not formulate my reed diffusers simply to perfume a room.

The aroma comes from the essential oil blend itself, with Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Lavender selected for the part each plays within Calming.

There is no synthetic perfume added simply to make the aroma artificially strong.

For me, that is what makes an aromatherapy reed diffuser different.

Not just aroma. An atmosphere.
