I formulate Zen using pure essential oils rather than synthetic perfume, so its character comes from the oils themselves.

It is one of those aromas that does not need to shout to make its presence known.

Handmade Oat & Chamomile Soap

Alongside the room spray is an Oat and Chamomile Soap Bar, handmade in Scotland by a small artisan maker.

The soap is made with natural ingredients and includes Oat, Chamomile, Shea Butter and Apricot Kernel Oil.

It has a soft, understated character that makes it a particularly good partner for Zen.

The creamy lather cleanses the skin while turning something completely ordinary into a rather nicer part of the day.

And sometimes those small things are exactly what make a gift enjoyable.

Why I chose this pairing

I did not want the soap simply to copy the aroma of the room spray.

Instead, the two complement one another.

Zen becomes part of the atmosphere in the home, while the Oat and Chamomile Soap becomes part of an everyday routine.

How to use

Room Spray: Shake gently before use and spray into the air as required. Avoid spraying directly onto polished surfaces, fabrics, pets or people.

Soap: Lather with warm water, use as required and rinse thoroughly. Allow the bar to dry between uses to help it last longer.
